Hibiscus Beach |
 |
Hibiscus
Beach is located at Hibiscus Beach Resort in Little Princess. The beach
is a little rocky, which makes for great snorkeling. This is a resort
property, so guests always have the right-of-way. It's a great place
to spend the afternoon, have lunch or some drinks. |

The Palms at Pelican Cove Beach |
 |
The Palms at Pelican Cove Beach
is located at the Palms at Pelican Cove Beach Resort in Little Princess. There is a long,
beautiful sandy beach, with some structure in the water, which makes
for cool snorkeling. Be careful- it can be rough sometimes. Plan on spending the day because there is a beachside bar and restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. |

Judith's Fancy |
 |
I wouldn't recommend
this as a swimming beach but it has lots to offer in the way of coral
and shells. Judith's fancy is a spot frequented by surfers.
It is shallow and has lots of reef to be thrown against. Yeah,
I guess that does sound fun. Snorkeling is good there, but only
if the tide is down. Definitely good for riding the waves. |

Salt River Bay |
 |
Columbus' men
made the mistake of taking this for an actual fresh water river, needless
to say, they were still left very thirsty. Many Kayak tours come
in and out of here and on a full moon, it is beautiful. It is
protected by the Nature Conservatory and well worth the visit.
Lots of birds and fish thrive here as well as Mangroves. |

Columbus Landing |
 |
As the name states, this is
where Columbus and his men landed when on their voyage to the new world.
Besides history, it offers great snorkeling, diving, and fishing.
It is quiet. There is a grassy bottom with sporadic sandy parts. |

Cane Bay |
 |
On location there is a dive
shop and a kayak operation. You can rent snorkel gear and dive
gear. If you're not already certified, they can take you on an
introductory dive, or make arrangements that suite your time frame and
get you certified. The current here can be very strong and if
you're willing to do it, the snorkeling is awesome! This is home
to "the wall," as well as some wrecks and an abundance of
sea life. This is one of the greatest diving spots in the world.
It is definitely a must see. You can snorkel it as well, but it
is so much better on a dive. Cane Bay is a popular place for families
to hang out with their kids because it's a one stop beach that has everything.
Once a month, they have full moon parties and both these affairs get
a lot of attention. Oh, yes, it comes with a fully loaded bar! |

Northstar Bay |
 |
Crowded on the weekends and
rocky but good fun. The snorkeling is great, the diving is better. |

Davis Bay (Carambola) |
 |
Rolling hills, lots of palm
trees, and rocky cliffs being sprayed by the ocean mist of crashing
waves. If this sounds wonderful, then you've found your beach.
What makes it even better, there's a bar and restaurant, a place to
rent snorkel gear and hammocks to lay around and veg in. Okay,
if that didn't get you...golf and tennis courts. Now that I've
given you all the upsides, here's the down. It's a resort so you
may have to fight for the hammocks and chairs. It has a rocky
bottom and often strong currents. |

Annaly Bay |
| |
Pack lots of water for this venture.
You have to hike here. This is not the easiest hike to make either
but it is definitely worth gearing up for. Breathtaking is understatement.
You can either park at Carombola or off Scenic Drive. There are
no facilities so you are on your own. They do have tide pools
though! Excellent snorkeling, lots of privacy (who else is crazy
enough), and a long stretch of beach. You will be fully surrounded
by nature and all its beauty. |
