October in St. Croix can mean only one thing– no, not that holiday involving pumpkins and costumes, we’ll get to that later– but the annual centipede contest at Centipede, the boutique at Big Beard’s Adventure Tours. Round up your biggest, creepiest, crawliest critters (dead please!), toss them in a jar with alcohol, and bring them into Centipede for your chance to win a fabulous Big Beard Adventure trip. First prize is a full-day trip for 2 to Buck Island, second prize is a half-day trip for 2, and third prize is a sunset sail. Whoever said those creatures never did anything for ya?!
Or, if you’re lucky enough to not have huge centipedes at the ready, head down to Centipede in Christiansted (on Queen Cross Street, near the boardwalk) for the October sale, and great deals on all their sportswear. sunglasses, flip flops, and St. Croix merch. Everything in the store is 10- 60% off, so now is the time to scoop up some new gear for season.
