Everyone who’s been in St. Croix during the holiday season knows it truly is the most wonderful time of the year on island, and I personally wouldn’t want to spend it anywhere else in the world. Give me guavaberry rum and Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights and it makes me a very merry lady, indeed.
And season is upon us! The Gentlemen of Jones holiday decorations have been up in Christiansted for weeks, and the Christmas headwear is starting to make appearances around town (I spotted a reindeer antlers headband today). That means it’s time for all of our favorite holiday events. The Starving Artist Festival and Christmas Spoken Here have come and gone, and this weekend brings us the annual Christmas Boat Parade. St. Croix’s sailors deck out their fleets in the finest Christmas lights and decorations, and take a spin through Christiansted Harbor for everyone on the boardwalk to enjoy. Be sure to stick around for the fireworks after! If you can’t make it to Christiansted to check out the boats in their Christmas finest, you can watch all the action live from our Harbor Cam!
There’s also a Ruins Ramble at the Bethlehem Sugar Factory, which is off Route 707 via Queen Mary Highway, on Sunday at 3:30 pm. Always good to get some history and culture along with your holiday celebrations. There’s a cruise ship in port on Saturday and a few next week, so there will be lots of visitors who are lucky enough to share in some of the holiday good cheer.
Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings to all of our GoToStCroix.com fans!
