This five mile open water swim is one of America’s most successful swim competitions and features swimmers from all over the United States and even former Olympians. The Coral Reef Swim Race begins on Buck Island and ends at the main beach of The Buccaneer, where swimmers are greeted by a steel pan band along with friends and family. The Buccaneer’s general manager, Elizabeth Armstrong, is the event’s creator and organizer. Net proceeds from the Swim will be donated to The Nature Conservancy, which has been instrumental in establishing the East End Marine Park surrounding St. Croix. Do Black Friday the right way… at Jump Up! Start your holiday shopping with festive spirit and a party in the streets of Christiansted. Jump Up starts at 6 pm and vendors stay until around 10 pm. Stores stay open late and offer sales, food, and drink vendors line the streets. Artisans sell their crafts, and steel pan bands and live music play on every corner. Of course the Mocko Jumbies come out and dance.
