Christiansted Retail & Restaurant Association

WELCOME! To The Christiansted Restaurant and Retail Association Page. Here- you will find information about CRRA's events, meetings and how to become a member of this organization.

CRRA is a non-profit organization comprised of Christiansted merchants, restaurateurs, and business persons concerned with the safety, security and economic vitality of Christiansted town proper. The organization is run by the volunteer efforts of its members who work to resolve such issues as security, relations with the Virgin Islands Police Department, parking, town beautification and tourism efforts.

Why should I join?
Because there is strength in numbers...By combining your voice with others who have similiar concerns, we are a powerful force. We all have concerns and ideas for improvement. By collaborating and working together we can create change. Attend meetings and be heard! Volunteer to be on a committee or spear-head an effort and experience change in action. Click here to email us about becoming a member. Remember- just because you are not in the "retail" or "restaurant" business, you can still join as an affiliate. The association benefits all businesses in Christiansted, and we could uses your help, too.
When and where are the meetings?
In general, meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm.
What has CRRA accomplished?
  • Established 2 hour parking in merchant district
  • Security cameras - installation, repair, cleaning and maintenance. As a result of installing the security cameras, 3 people are currently serving Federal sentences
  • Security guards in the Government parking lot
  • Worked with St. Croix Anti-crime task force to bring the Guardian Angels to St. Croix
  • Restriction of street vendors during regular C’sted business hours (except in Market Square)
  • Coordinating with DPNR to fill pot holes in town
  • Removal of abandoned cars
  • Clean up of Water Gut area. Note: the Water Gut parking lot is now clear and open. You can walk out of the lot and directly onto the new boardwalk at Seaborne and directly into town. Please consider parking there, instead of taking up spaces in the Government lot or in town that could be used by customers.
  • Extension of the boardwalk to Seaborne (next phase to Gallows Bay!)
  • Organization of the car wash youth in Government Lot. They were given customer service training, t-shirts and encouraged to work as a business.

In the works:

  • Completion of boardwalk to Gallows Bay
  • Repair of street lights and boardwalks lights and coordination with St. Croix Foundation of new walkway lights
  • Ongoing communication with VIPD to continue police presence in town
  • Placement of signs in town to direct visitors to Government lot for parking
  • Continual monitoring of crime and crime prevention
