February brings average temperatures in the high-70’s and has one of the lowest amounts of monthly rainfall, which makes it a great month for one of the island’s most popular local events: AgriFest. This weekend long festival is a celebration and exhibition of local produce, livestock and handmade products. This a great family event full of exhibits, vendors, food and fun. Around Valentine’s Day Christiansted hosts one of their four annual Jump Ups, so join the celebration and support local shops, vendors, restaurants and bars while you partake in this town-wide party.
Here on St. Croix, we also celebrate Mardi Croix – a fun, Mardi Gras-esque party and parade held at Cane Bay. If you are looking for some history and culture, get tickets to the House Tours put on by the St. Croix Landmarks Society, or attend the Good Hope School Fine Art Show, with the proceeds going to the Good Hope School Scholarship Fund. February also brings around the Toast to the Captain 8.4 Mile Road Race and the Cruise Ship 5K Run if you are looking to participate in a more physical event.
You can also continue to enjoy a few of the recurring monthly events such as Art Thursday in Christiansted, Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted, Jazz in the Park in Christiansted, and Movies at the Fort in Christiansted. If you are on St. Croix this month, here are some events you won’t want to miss:
