More and more of us realize how our daily lives can have such a negative impact on the environment. It is no different for those of us living and working on St. Croix, a tiny island in the Caribbean, making it even more important to reduce, re-use & recycle.

It is hard to say that any business on St. Croix is 100% green, but there are several of businesses who are trying to do their part to help clean up their act, and more joining the ranks each day. The businesses listed below are making an effort to be enviro-friendly. Whether going green is important to you or not, we encourage you to seek out the eco-conscious businesses and use their services.

Salud!: Utilizes fresh, local organic produce; only serves fresh fish caught in St. Croix waters; compost food waste; donates used cooking oil to be converted into Bio-Fuel for generators.

Dive Experience: Initiated the mooring system in 1989 to protect coral damage; provides recycled bags in their shop, paper cups on the boat and recycle aluminum cans at their shop.

At this time, there is not a St. Croix rental car agency that offers hybrid cars. Please check back as this will change in the near future.

Virgin Islands Network of Environmental Educators (VINE) - organization set in place to educate residents & visitors on the importance of "Leaving Paradise in its Place".
