Culture abounds on the island of St. Croix due to its rich history and combination of African, European, Caribbean and American cultures and the people of St. Croix (Crucians) are very proud and happy to share with you. While you’re on St. Croix, check out the quadrille dancers, listen to some of the local quelbe or steel drum music, hear storytellers recount legendary St. Croix stories. Depending on the time of year, heck out some of the annual cultural events such as Crucian Carnival, the Agricultural Fair or Mango Melee. Cultural events year-round include Caribbean nights featuring dinner with a local flare followed by the dancing mocko jumbies.
