We've enjoyed having a live webcam on the beach in Frederiksted for several years, but we've had to discontinue the service due to the technical challenges we encountered. Living on a tropical island is always an adventure, usually fun, but anything that can go wrong, usually does - it's part of the "charm" of island life. After years of salty air, hot sun, rain, wind, as well as the constant challenges we are faced with to sustain internet connectivity and save our electronics from power outages and power surges, our webcam was down more than it was up. Finally, reluctantly, we had to admit defeat and say 'enough'! But we love Frederiksted! So, we decided to move our webcam one mile north to Strand Street, downtown Frederiskted, closer to the cruise ship pier. While there is the same Caribbean Sea, and the gorgeous sunset in the background, we will miss the beauty and tranquility of the beach.
