Escort a Pet and Help Save a Life! Even if you’re not going to adopt a pet, you can help save a life. It’s easy. If you’re traveling from St. Croix to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Washington DC, or other U.S. destinations, you can become a travel partner for a St. Croix animal on his or her way to a home at one of our partner shelters in the U.S. mainland. The pets we send to the United States are very much in demand, as many of our partner shelters have a waiting list of families seeking a specific type of dog or cat (that we have too many of). All of the travel coordination is provided by AWC. With enough advance notice from you (at least 10 days), we can make all the arrangements – all you need to do is meet us at the airport on St. Croix before departing, and meet a representative at the airport when you arrive back home. Together we’ll save a pet’s life and get it closer to its new adoptive home! Here’s what to do: First Contact St. Croix AWC (a list of states with partnering shelters is updated on their website). Next provide your return flight information, number of travelers-including all connections and times-and final destination. Our staff will make reservations with the partner shelter, and they will meet you at the St. Croix airport with the pet. Once you’ve arrived at your destination, a partner shelter’s staff will meet you at the final destination airport. If you are interested in finding out more about Pets From Paradise, or perhaps you are affiliated with a shelter we don’t yet work with, or want to adopt a pet for yourself, please visit our website for details. Donations can be made to support this program, which helps pay for the health certificate, travel fees with airlines, and other costs. Thank you for helping to sponsor a St. Croix animal, they make such wonderful pets!
