St. Croix is home to over 125 places to worship, including the oldest Catholic Church in the Virgin Islands. If you are looking to attend mass, synagogue or spiritual service during your vacation, our local places to worship will happily open their doors to you. Many places to worship are within walking distance from downtown Christiansted and Frederiksted. Use the guide below to find the place of worship that is right for you.

Offering spiritual service to local residents and island visitors alike, since 1972, Temple B'Nai Or is the Jewish Community on St. Croix. Offering Shabbat Service on Friday evenings at 6:15. In addition to Friday night Shabbat services Congregation B'nai Or holds High Holiday Services, Hanukkah Festivities, and a community Passover Seder. Centrally located the Temple invites you to visit our synagogue and feel free to stop in and worship with us.




Holy Cross Catholic Church

Know as the first Catholic Church in the Virgin Islands, Holy Cross Catholic Church was built in 1755. The original church, was built in the shape of a cross, to represent St. Croix, which means Holy Cross in French. The church was rededicated in 1958 after suffering major losses due to a fire and most of the roof was damaged in 1988 during Hurricane Hugo. The church is available to practicing Catholics for marriages and baptisms.

Daily Mass at 8:15 am, Saturday evening mass at 6:30, Sunday Spanish mass at 7:15am and English mass at 9:00am and 11:00am.
