Help bring back a St. Croix critter, and help save a life. The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center has teamed up with shelters throughout the United States. These shelters have a need for small breed dogs on a waiting list for adoptive homes. You need not adopt, but agree to transport a pet from St. Croix to the U.S. mainland. Already have a hook bracelet? Or not such a traditionalist? Chaney bracelets and pendants are made from old pieces of China found on the beach and around old sugar plantations. Cruzan Rum.
Year after year, thousands of barrels of Cruzan Rum are made right here on St. Croix. And, US residents, over the age of 21 are allowed to bring back five bottles of liquor duty-free, or six if one of the bottles is locally produced. The only place in the world you can tour the Cruzan Rum distillery is on St. Croix. Take only photos, leave only footprints. Exploring Buck Island National Monument and Turtle Beach are a must do on your St. Croix vacation. Snorkel the underwater trail, hike to the observation point and walk the white sandy beach. Don't forget your camera, the views are breathtaking.
