The original Goat, Soup and Whiskey was established in 1997 at Keystone Resort Colorado. The tavern was named after a dog whose actual name was Pali Wali. Half Sheep dog and half Dalmatian, Pali Wali looked and caused trouble just like a goat. Hence, he was forever referred to as “Goat”. When The Goat was opened, our kitchen was only large enough to make soup for the first four years, and since we held a Colorado “Whiskey License”, we became “Goat, Soup and Whiskey.”

Put-in-Bay, Ohio became the home of our second Goat, Soup and Whiskey in 2006. Then, in 2019 we brought our expanded menu of freshly prepared comfort food and our talented kitchen and restaurant staff from Put-in-Bay to the island of St. Croix. The chefs added some new twists to classic dining favorites and created dishes unique to the St. Croix Goat. With access to fresh local lobster and seafood, we offer fresh seafood specials. We also source as much of our produce locally, and the soups, sauces and desserts are all made from scratch. We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy every bite.
