Seagrass Patrol is a citizen science program that offers participants a hands-on experience to explore the inhabitants of the often-overlooked seagrass meadows. St. Croix East End Marine Park staff guide participants as they use a seine net to catch, identify, measure, and record species in this unique habitat. The team prioritizes the safe release of organisms caught in the net and emphasizes conservation as the main message.
This free and educational event is hosted quarterly and is suitable for all ages and experience levels. RSVP is mandatory

Explore a gorgeous and extraordinary medium in this 3-hour introduction class. This class will be an intro to the art of stained glass and the student will learn to construct organic 3-D shapes. Choose from sample shapes or learn to make a favorite flower in stained glass. All tools and materials will be supplied.

Krew de Croix presents this year's dog parade with the theme of "Fanta Sea". Parade on the boardwalk. Awards in Kings Alley. Registration is $10. Choose your own or a friends dog for Peoples Choice. Tickets are $1 each vote. No limit to voting! Register your dogs in their Fanta Sea themed costumes at 12:00pm in front of Shupes. The parade starts at 1:00pm, and judging will commence at 2:30pm in King's Alley. All proceeds go directly to animal rescue organizations on island.

Get ready to run, bike, and run again at the DU Your Best Duathlon at Divi Casino! Hosted by the Virgin Islands Triathlon Federation, this event welcomes athletes of all levels, with both a standard duathlon (1-mile run / 14-mile bike / 3-mile run) and a beginner-friendly Try-a-Du option (.5-mile run / 6-mile bike / 1-mile run).

The day will be packed with fun for everyone, with over 100 artisan and food vendors, and farmers set up throughout the beautiful garden grounds. Last year included educational workshops (with the Nature Conservancy, SEA, CHANT and more), activities for kids (by the Children's Museum, Jungle James, and Apex Inflatables), and, of course, the Mango Dis Mango Dat Cooking Contest and Mango Eating Contest. Entertainment throughout the day provided by DJ Troopah Live, Deri, Fyah Train, and Steel Pan by Abbie Masicot and Kevin Williams!

In this two-day introductory class, participants will learn the basics of Batik using a brush technique. Each person will get to complete a pillowcase, t-shirt, tote OR circular Batik painting. Limited supplies of each. On the first day, ninety percent (90%) of the project will be completed while the second day will be used to remove the wax. All materials are included in the price.

2025 Past Event - 30 Sat | Seagrass Patrol - Whale Bay (Brown Bay)
The St. Croix East End Marine Park is hosting another Seagrass Patrol at Whale Bay (also known as Brown Bay).
We will be teaching attendees how to use a seine net to catch what lives in the seagrass beds that protect our coral reefs. We will also be learning how to identify and collect data about juvenile species of fish and invertebrates. All of this work will be done sustainably with catch and release techniques that our marine biologists on staff have practiced for years.
It is sure to be a fun and educational day for the whole family.
