Frederiksted Beach, also known as Fort Frederik Beach, is the most easily accessible beach from the cruise ship pier. There are some trees here that provide relief from the sun, and the park across the street is a great spot for young kids to play. With public restrooms, picnic tables, and plenty of space to spread out, you could easily spend the entire day here, relax, and then watch sunset. Â This beach has calm water, making this a area for paddle boarding, swimming and snorkeling.
DETAILS
Snorkeling can be great here, especially along the rocky patches and near the pier. Make sure to keep a lookout in the clear, shallow water for sea turtles, octopus, flounder, butterfly fish, angelfish and blue tangs. While Frederiksted Beach can be rocky in places, there are places to enter to swim and snorkel – just watch out below for sea urchins!
Since Frederiksted Beach is located so close to downtown Frederiksted, you also have access to restaurants, stores, dive shops and more within walking distance. It is the most easily accessible beach from the cruise ship pier, so keep in mind that this beach can be crowded when there is a ship. Also, you cannot go onto or snorkel or dive under the pier when a cruise ship is in port.

Frederiksted Beach is located in the town of Frederiksted just north of the Pier and Fort Frederik on Highway 63, across the street from the ballpark.
