Folklife Festival
Every year, St. Croix comes alive with the vibrant Folklife Festival, a celebration of the island’s rich cultural heritage. The festival showcases traditional music, dance, crafts, and culinary delights that attract locals and visitors alike. Taking place over multiple weeks in the early Spring and mid-Summer, festival goers can immerse themselves in the unique cultural experiences that St. Croix has to offer. Historically, the festival has been held in March and July, but some years it has happened as early as February, so be sure to check our calendar for upcoming Folklife events.
You’ll also find exhibits sponsored by local schools, youth groups, and cultural organizations, highlighting the island’s diverse heritage. In addition to the crafts and cultural exhibits, there is plenty of fun to be had for all ages. Traditional music and dance performances are a major highlight of the festival, with live Quelbe music and captivating dance routines that showcase the island’s vibrant culture. There are numerous interactive workshops where you can learn about traditional storytelling, basket weaving, and other cultural practices. For history enthusiasts, the historic Estate Whim Museum offers a glimpse into St. Croix’s colonial past through guided tours and special exhibits.
