King Christian Hotel is a historic waterfront gem in Christiansted that sits directly on the edge of the Christiansted Boardwalk and a National Park. This hotel has been completely re-imagined from head to toe. King Christian Before
Historic King Christian was built in 1743 and has held pride of place on Christiansted Harbor since.
King Christian Hotel in the 1960’s was updated, but maintained it’s Danish architectural charm.

This is what the King Christian Hotel looks like now. The renovations began in 2021, and continue to amaze with the perfect combination of historic and modern. What was once a budget hotel is now a luxurious getaway in the heart of downtown.
Brand New Guest Rooms
There are 46 fully remodeled rooms (with more to come) offering basic and luxury amenities such as air conditioning, smart TV, refrigerators, free Wi-Fi, high quality linens, marble clad showers, bespoke furniture, bluetooth Marshal stereos and and much more!
Harborview rooms feature large private patios complete with the perfect bistro set-up to watch the ships come in or to dine al fresco.
Relaxing at the King Christian
King Christian Hotel has a beautiful pool and sun deck with lush landscaping, plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas, plus a poolside bar. Pool passes are now available for non-hotel guests for $20, and the pool bar is open to the public daily!
Recently, the roof top patio has opened with gorgeous views of Christiansted Harbor. The breeze is glorious, making it the perfect outdoor event space or place to catch some sun. This new roof top space is ideal for sunset gatherings, and is available as an event space for your next party.
Restaurants, Lounges and More
King Christian Hotel is home to six restaurants, lounges and specialty eateries. From the time you enter the lobby of the hotel, you’re surrounded by delicious options for every time of day and every sort of craving. On the hotel property you’ll find everything from coffee and cocktails, fine cuisine to locally crafted ice cream.
The Peacock Room
The Peacock Room doubles as the lobby of the hotel and a wine bar and lounge. Check in and let the relaxing begin, and make friends with other guests in a space that inspires conversation.
Caroline’s
Caroline’s is an oceanfront breakfast and brunch restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Caroline’s has been well received since day one featuring breakfast favorites, daily specials, pastries, coffee from Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters, and fun cocktails. Breakfast is served all day, and lunch is available from 11am-2pm. Caroline’s is open daily from 7am-2pm, but closed seasonally for part of the summer.
El Leon Mexican Restaurant
El Leon is a contemporary Mexican restaurant located on the Christiansted boardwalk. The newest restaurant to open in Christiansted, El Leon offers scratch-made authentic Mexican cuisine featuring fresh ingredients and bursting with delicious flavors. The bar serves up unique margaritas and craft cocktails, along with a wide variety of Mezcals and Tequilas. El Leon is open daily from 6pm-10:30pm, and Friday through Sunday for lunch starting at 11:00am. Reservations recommended on OpenTable.
Breakers Roar Tiki Bar
Breakers Roar is a unique nautical tiki bar at King Christian Hotel. Sip on handcrafted topical tiki cocktails, some featuring house-made syrups and locally produced spirits. Small plates are available, and live music is offered weekly. Breakers Roar is open Sun-Thurs from 6pm-12am and Fri-Sat from 6pm-2am.
Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters
Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters is a coffee roastery, tasting room and café. Offering artisanal small batch roasted coffee and coffee drinks, as well as tea and smoothies. The café also has a large indoor space, as well as outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi. Open daily from 7am.
Cream & Co. Ice Cream
Cream & Co. serves up handmade ice cream in classic and creative flavors for all ages. Choose from simple scoops and ice cream cones, to signature milkshakes and tropical ice cream floats. For something new, try Crucian-inspired ice cream flavors like Peanut Punch and Ginger Lemongrass. Cream & Co. is open Sun-Thurs from 11am-8pm and Fri-Sat from 11am-10pm.
Historic Downtown Christiansted
The hotel offers boardwalk access to dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries and a casino. Catch the water taxi from the dock directly outside the King Christian for a two minute ride over to the Cay beach. The taxi stand is across the street.
