St. Croix’s First Eco-Lodge
Mt. Victory Camp is an Eco-Lodge nestled in the Northwest Hills of beautiful St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. This Caribbean homestead was designed to enhance the beauty of the natural surroundings, capture the cool breezes, and provide a peaceful setting for people to get closer to the nature of our beautiful island. The screened-in bungalows are hand made from wind-fallen local lumber and provide for a “camping” experience, with the comforts of a simple Caribbean home. Each of the units has a view of the lush hillsides surrounding our home.
“Just the right mix of comfort and protection set amid the natural splendor that is the real St. Croix. A masterful complement of workmanship and sensitivity to nature’s own artistry.”– David, CA
Just off the beaten path…
“This is the place for people who want to be intimately close to nature, who want to learn what Caribbean every day reality is like, who want to walk or bike or move around in other ways on their own. Camp Mt. Victory is a place where social life (Frederiksted), the sea, the mountains and the rain forest are equally available. Those who want solitude will find it here.” – Mt. Victory Guest, Finland
Located in the “rain forest” on the west end of the island, this is the perfect place for people looking to get to know and experience the natural splendors of the Virgin Islands. Only a five minute drive or a pleasant 30 minute hike from beautiful beaches, we’re close enough to enjoy the ocean, but far enough to be cool at night and not have the bugs! We’re also a perfect jumping off point for beautiful hikes, invigorating mountain bike rides and scenic horseback rides. We also have the beautiful ruins of an old Danish-built schoolhouse that houses our red-footed tortoise colony. Our gardens and fruit trees make for an idyllic setting against the backdrop of tropical forest, the perfect place for you, your family, or your group to experience the nature of our island.

For an even deeper connection to nature, we offer guided hikes, plant walks, and workshops in primitive skills and nature awareness…
Owners, Matt and Carmen Corradino, are nationally known and work for Tom Brown Jr’s. Tracker School in New Jersey. They have extensive experience in outdoor skills, having lived in a primitive shelter for over six years while teaching at the school… yes through the winter!! They have taught both children and adults from all over the world and offer an array of workshops, as well as personalized lessons for individuals and groups. Some of the things taught include fire-making, basketry, bow-making, tracking, shelter-building and rope-making, just to name a few. Whatever your interest level, you’ll leave inspired by nature and what you’ve learned, and empowered by what you’ve accomplished.
“The cabin’s were extremely simple, nothing like your typical Caribbean resort. No TV for a week was great for all of us! We traded it for talking and brightly lit moon & stars. A good reminder for us “city dwellers” both young and old, of what’s really important in life and how sometimes the simplest things in life can bring a comfortable sense of happiness and content.” – Edwin, MA
There are five dwellings on Mount Victory’s property: Four bungalows and a schoolhouse apartment. Each bungalow is designed to comfortably accommodate a family of four – so there’s plenty of room for couples. Each dwelling is constructed of local, mostly wind-fallen tropical hardwood, with opaque canopy roofs and screened-in sides to keep the bugs out while letting the cool breeze flow through. Each bungalow has an efficiency kitchen with running water and electricity. Bungalow rates start at $70 per night. Tent campers are welcome to pitch their own tents in either the open air or in the forest – with access to bathhouse facilities, pavilion cooking and dining facilities and free WiFi. Tent camping is $30 per night.
