St. Croix is home to many anchorages and moorings, as well as a Blue Flag award-winning marina. If you are coming to St. Croix by boat you will want to make arrangements in advance. While you can anchor in some spots, if you want a slip, mooring, or space in a marina, you will need to reserve a spot ahead of time. The boating is excellent on St. Croix. We are within a day sail of St. John and the BVI’s, and Buck Island is an easy boat ride from Christiansted Harbor, Gallows Bay, or Green Cay Marina. In addition to the marinas, there are also approximately 50 moorings that are FREE! The moorings around St. Croix were set up to protect our precious coral reefs, but there is a 3 hour limit, daytime use only, and no vessels over 60 feet are allowed.
