There is up to an entire week dedicated to Halloween events each year on St. Croix! Everything from family friendly trick-or-treating to costumed dog contests to dancing the night away. Don your scariest, funniest or most creative costume to win some fantastic prizes at one of many island wide costume contests. Get your candy fix while trick-or-treating with the kids. Visit a spooky haunt. Catch some live music. Join in the celebration at one of the island’s Halloween parties. There are plenty of options when you are planning your Halloween celebrations. 2016 Halloween Happenings:
Shupe’s Halloween Party on The Boardwalk (Friday, October 28th)
Kick-off Halloween your Halloween weekend with a fun costume contest and live music by Kurt Schindler at Shupe’s on the Boardwalk!
Going Batty (Friday, October 28th)
Join St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA) and celebrate bats! Learn about bats, see the bats emerge from the Barren Spot Bat Tower, and learn how to help these invaluable pollinators and mosquito eaters. Free to SEA members and children, $10 for non-members. Call (340) 773-1989 to learn more.
Divi Casino Halloween Party & Costume Contest (Saturday, October 29th)
If you are looking for an adults-only Halloween celebration on the East End, head over to the Divi Carina Bay Casino for their Halloween bash. In addition to the typical fun casino gaming, enjoy live music and a costume contest for cash prizes (Scariest $300, Funniest $300, and Most Original $400)! Judging for the costume contest starts at 8:00pm with winners to be announced at 10:30pm. (Please note the following costume contest restrictions: NO heavy make-up and NO weapons, real or fake.) Enjoy the howlin’ good sounds of live music from 9pm-1am! It’ll be a graveyard smash!
AZ Academy Fall Festival (Friday, October 29th)
The Fall Festival has always been a highly anticipated annual community event. With over 2,000 guests, the Fall Festival has been a huge fundraising success for 14 years. It provides a safe, one-of-a-kind, fun-filled family annual event that celebrates the changing of the seasons. There are games for adults and children of all ages and many enjoy. Costumes are encouraged at this event, but not required to join in on the fun. There will also be music, a mechanical bull, illusionist Johnny Daemon and a haunted house. Each child that enters the event receives a treat bag with a map to games at the event, and a Fall Festival Activity Book full of fun fall activity pages. The funds raised from the Annual Fall Festival directly impacts children and families of St. Croix through AZ Academy’s Scholarship Fund. Giving the gift education!
Galloween (Monday, October 31st)
Parents take your little goblins, ghosts and ghouls to Gallows Bay in Christiansted on Halloween from 2:30pm to 4:30pm for their annual Halloween trick and treating event, Galloween. Come visit Undercover Books, The Bistro and other participating businesses for a fun and safe afternoon of trick or treating for the kiddos!
Treating Through Christiansted (Monday, October 31st)
This year, you can bring the “little monsters” to treat their way through Christiansted for Halloween from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. CRRA participating restaurant and retail shops will be passing out candy for all those who dress. We will also have extra police presence for safety, and to make sure the parents don’t take their kids candy!
Frederiksted Halloween Spooktacular (Monday, October 31st)
Take the entire family to Frederiksted from 5:30pm until 10:00pm for a fun (and safe) evening of Halloween activities. From 5:30pm to 7:00pm both Strand Street and King Street will be closed to vehicular traffic so the kids can enjoy trick or treating offered by participating local Frederiksted businesses. You can also enjoy games, costume contests, a hay ride, jumbie stories, and the Crucian pumpkin patch.
