First, a little introduction and history…Budget has been an independent franchisee on St. Croix in 1977. Careel has been working for Budget since it was started as a customer service desk operating out of the King Christian Hotel, with the vehicles stored offsite at Armstrong Ford. She now manages the company, which has grown to two pick-up locations, one at the airport and one near the seaplane terminal in Christiansted, as well as the main offices and rental car return compound at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport. If you have rented from Budget St. Croix, you know what a great experience it is. That’s because Careel instills in her employees the motto: “It’s not about the car, it’s about the customer service.” These are obviously words to live by at Budget because the employees are all friendly, and the ladies that work in the office are trained in many areas of the administrative and customer service aspects of the rental process – from taking reservations to welcoming customers at the airport counter.
