The
trail winds through lush rainforest like vegation, with millipedes, hermit
crabs and larger than life botanicals and breathtaking glimpses over Carambola
and the Caribbean. Then, it opens to waist high grass leading down to the
black rock beach. The trail at this time can be very difficult to follow, so watch your step or for any markings. Once the trail opens to the water, go left along the beach,
and wind your way around the rocks, where you will then see an amazing,
natural formed tide pool. When the swells are just right, they crash over the
rock wall. Please treat the area with respect, as there are no trash receptacles,
etc. Bring lots of water.
CAUTION: Sometimes the tide is high and you take a risk
winding around the rocks through the water to reach the actual pools. The
rock walls that surround the pools are VERY sharp and pointy. |
