Sunday & Monday “Funday” Sails
Sunday and Monday Funday sails are open to everyone! Bring your friends, a cooler and enjoy sailing and relaxing the West End. We depart the dock at 10am and return at 2pm. Enjoy about 1-2 hours of sailing, before we find a calm anchorage on the West End. Once anchored, you can jump off the boat, swim, snorkel, or just relax in the water with friends. Please note that we require a strict minimum of 6 people for this sail to occur. Live availability is available on our website so you can see how many people are already booked! Unlimited rum punch and Captain and Crew included. $55 per person for 4 hours of fun.
What to Bring:
- Cooler with beverages of your choice and lunch/snacks
- Towel, hat, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, sun protection etc.
- Snorkel gear
- Friends!
- Cash to tip your crew (15-20% of your sail price is industry standard)
- Swimming Ability–we do recommend that guests on this sail be able to swim/support themselves in water. We may anchor in water deeper than you stand. We will ask non-swimmers to wear a lifejacket at all times or remain on board while anchored.
Private Day Sails
We offer half and full-day private day sailing adventures for 1-25 people out of beautiful Frederiksted Wednesday-Sunday (excluding cruise ship days)! Sail along the beautiful West End coastline and spot turtle tracks and endangered birds on Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge. Round the Northwest tip of the island and be dazzled by the Ham’s Bluff lighthouse and the gorgeous green hills of the North Shore. Snorkel shipwrecks, reefs and more!
Our day sails are private, so your group will be the only guests on the boat. Your sail with us is fully customizable—we can just sail, or we can sail and anchor at a unique stop to snorkel or simply relax in our crystal clear tropical waters! We offer a half-day experience (3.5 hours) or full-day sail experience (6 hours). Snacks are provided on half-day sails, as well as rum cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks; the full day includes a picnic lunch. You’ll be served by our amazing, friendly crew. Let us know if there is anything we can provide to make your trip more special!
You'll be welcomed aboard Jolly Mon at the Frederiksted Pier by Captain Mike and his 1st Mate. Help raise the sails as we leave the Pier (only if you want to, of course). Our destination will depend on what your group wants and on the weather: your group will be our only guests, so you choose! Example itinerary: Sail for an hour or two before we drop anchor in our the crystal clear waters. Depart the cat by easy stairs and snorkel, play and swim. If you snorkel, your 1st mate will guide you and help locate the coolest of critters (from turtles to stingrays, to fish to crabs) and also St. Croix’s famous shipwrecks!
Prices are very competitive for private charters! Half-Day rates start at $750 for 1-6 people. Each additional person is $50. Full Day rates for 1-6 people start at $900. Each additional person is $75. See our rate sheet on our website if you don’t want to do the math.

Our 63ft custom catamaran can host up to 49 passengers, perfect for large events like company parties and retreats, weddings, receptions or any special occasion you want to celebrate! We work with a number of excellent chef’s on island that can cater your event.
Brides: We work with several wedding planners on island to help host your special day, rehearsal dinner, bachelorette or bachelor sails! Captain Mike is an ordained minister and can marry you at sea! Please contact us for information about getting married on St Croix (you do need to obtain a US Virgin Islands marriage license for the ceremony to be official).

Sunset Sails

For your sail, you will depart from the Frederiksted pier on our beloved 63ft custom catamaran, Jolly Mon. Depending on the winds, we sometimes round Sandy Point to look for sea turtle tracks! While you sail, you can enjoy live music from local and visiting bands, experience exceptional service from our professional crew, and delight on unlimited rum punch. Moonlight Sails
We follow the moon cycle here at Lyric Sails! Sail along the Frederiksted coastline in the magical light of the Full Moon! Live Music, cash bar and bottomless rum punch. Starting at $75 per person.

Welcome Aboard Jolly Mon
Jolly Mon is a Peter Spronk built custom sailing catamaran, originally named Che Cje (pronounced Chay Cha). She is 63ft long and sports a beam of 24ft and a 3ft draft. She was built in 1968 in St. Maarten, originally for transatlantic racing which she held several records in throughout the ’70s.
She was then bought by a smuggler who lived off of Key Biscayne, FL in the ’80s. In the mid-nineties, the US government caught up with him and seized the boat and sold her at auction. She was bought by Miles and Mark Sperber who retired her from her tough, previous life and turned her into a charter boat in the US Virgin Islands. Lyric Sails officially purchased Jolly Mon in December 2015!
Jolly Mon is a US Coastguard inspected vessel capable of holding 49 passengers and 3 crew members. Six years ago, she received a brand new mast and rigging, and 2 years ago she got a new paint job and was painted red. She is dedicatedly maintained to keep her looking beautiful, safe and in tip-top shape. We are constantly trying to improve her.
Her favorite activities include singing (while we are sailing, listen for her hum in C-minor), sailing fast (12 knots is her current sweet spot) and showing people an awesome time. She is the happiest boat in the Caribbean.

Lyric Sails is headquartered at our sister business, Tap Deck Bar & Billiards and is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. Tap Deck is located at 1D Strand Street, right across the street from the Frederiksted Pier, on the 2nd floor. Enter through the Pier 69 courtyard and look for our signs.
Departures
We sail from the Frederiksted Pier (cruise ship dock) daily. Look for the big red catamaran! Time of departure can vary based on the sunset time/time of year and other factors, so always check your reminder email the day before the sail. If you arrive before check-in time, we recommend waiting at Tap Deck or Six Nine, in the courtyard across the street from the Pier. Both are open before your sail for drinks and food!
