Our Cane Bay location is right across the street from Cane Bay, one of St. Croix's most popular shore dives. Our state of the art dive facility offers many features and amenities including an air-conditioned classroom for our IDC and dive certification students. We keep our certification class sizes and Discover Scuba experiences small (much smaller than PADI requirements) in order to allow for one-on-one attention from the instructors, and to ensure quality and safety. The storage room for our scuba rental gear is dehumidified, and the rental gear is replaced every three years, plus we offer a dehumidified storage room for visiting dive guests to store their gear overnight (no packing wet gear for the trip home!)
Sweet Bottom Dive Center's original location at Carambola Beach Resort is now open. With fresh paint, new and improved lighting, new store fixtures and all new rental equipment, Sweet Bottom Dive Center will be ready to serve its guests. Sweet Bottom Dive Center will provide a full concierge dive service at the resort. As guests enter the guard gate, Sweet Bottom staff will be notified and meet them in the parking lot to help them with their dive equipment, bringing it to the dive center via a golf cart. Once the equipment is set up on the equipment bench, the equipment will be transported down the beach to the dive site entry point. When the dive is completed, Sweet Bottom staff will recover the equipment, it will be transported back to the dive center for cleaning and drying. "We want our guests to feel special when they dive with our operation." Guests are welcome to stay for lunch or some relaxing beach time at beautiful Davis Bay. Sweet Bottom Dive Center at the Carambola Beach Resort will offer its guest all of the same activities that they do at their Cane Bay location. From scuba equipment or snorkel rental, to guided dives and instruction, there is something for everyone.St. Croix is home to miles of healthy reef that blankets the north, west and east sides of the island. There are more than 50 dive sites scattered around the north and west sides of the island. Simply put, the island has very diverse diving. Along the North Shore there is wall diving. The West End has 5 shipwrecks, the pier, and reef diving. Finally, there is Buck Island which offers wonderful snorkeling and a relaxing atmosphere.
Shore diving is very popular on St. Croix due to the accessibility and quality of the dive sites. We offer guided shore dives to a number of different dive sites. Our guided dives have an average group size of 3:1, three divers to one divemaster, to keep the focus on you and your enjoyment. We also try to keep divers of the same skill level grouped together to avoid divers feeling pressured into diving past their limits. These are some of the popular shore dives on St. Croix: Cane Bay, Davis Bay Wall (Carambola House Reef), Northstar, and Frederiksted Pier.
The boat diving on St. Croix is split into West End and North Shore dive sites. On the West End the notable sites are the Butler Bay Shipwrecks, Sprat Hall, Armageddon, BK, and Aquarium. On the North Shore some notable sites are Salt River Canyon, WAPA, Turquoise Bay, Love Shack, and Long Reef. Our boat dives are conducted utilizing St. Croix's Ultimate Blue Water Adventure's dive boats. We believe in personalizing our dive experiences, and we offer a personal dive guide when diving off of their boats to keep our small group feel.
