Bioluminescence Kayak Tour

Looking for a truly unique experience in St. Croix? We offer the only completely transparent kayak tour that features the bioluminescence of the Salt River Bio Bay!

The tour begins by departing our facility in Salt River Marina and paddling 3/4 of a mile to the bioluminescent bay. Once inside the bay, our guides are eager to describe the wonders of the water and set you free for 45 minutes to explore this natural phenomenon…one of only seven full-time bioluminescent bays in the world!

As your kayak skims over the dark water, you are agitating billions of bioluminescent microorganisms, causing them to light up underneath you, engulfing the kayak in a beautiful glow! We are also the only tour operator that allows you to explore on your own, so you can truly immerse yourself in this amazing natural phenomenon. (Ages 8 and up.)

Glass Bottom Kayak Tour of Salt River Bay and Mangroves

Go eco-kayaking into the depths of nature and history with a glass bottom kayak tour of Salt River Bay National Park and Ecological Preserve. This excursion will feature a paddling tour of the multiple bays within the park boundaries, emphasizing the dense mangroves and crystal waters in our glass bottom kayaks.

Become immersed into the rich nature and history of Salt River Bay and learn about the different types of mangrove forest while spying snowy egrets, pelicans, and sunbathing iguanas. Experience up-close the pulsating Cassiopeia jelly fish lining the shallow breeding areas, aerobatic spotted eagle rays, and other aquatic species with your uninhibited view of the waters beneath your clear bottom kayak.

This tour will utilize our clear bottom kayaks with molded seats and backrest for the optimal immersive paddling experience. There is no better way to fully experience the Caribbean waters of our National Park and Ecological Preserve. Beginner and expert paddlers welcome! (Ages 5 and up.)

Day Kayaking Tour of the National Park with Beach Stop

Go eco-kayaking into the depths of nature and history with a kayak tour of Salt River Bay National Park and Ecological Preserve. This excursion will feature a paddling tour of the multiple bays within the park boundaries and a stopover at a sandy beach.

Become immersed into the rich nature and history of Salt River Bay and learn about the different types of mangrove forest while spying snowy egrets, pelicans, and sunbathing iguanas. Experience up-close the pulsating Cassiopeia jelly fish lining the shallow breeding areas. Take a break and experience the island life while sunbathing on a pristine sandy beach, try out your snorkeling gear, or feel the sand between your toes while searching for that unique shell.

This tour will utilize stable sit on top Ocean Kayaks with back rest for an optimal paddling experience. There is no better way to fully experience our National Park and Ecological Preserve. Beginner and expert paddlers welcome! (Ages 5 and up.)

This excursion will feature a paddling tour of the multiple bays within the park boundaries, emphasizing the dense mangrove environment, crystal waters, rich natural beauty, and history.

We offer two different levels of SUP eco-tours based upon your experience level:

Beginner Tour
Ideal for those with less experience or needing a confidence boost. We will focus on the fundamentals and getting you comfortable with the SUP, progressing from the basics on up. Our pace will be relaxed and comfortable, immersing ourselves into the park. Our pace will dictate the distance we travel, but all SUPers know it is truly about the journey, not the destination.

Advanced Tour
For all the water inclined and competent paddleboarders. We will set off for an awesome day of SUPing in the park. Previous paddleboard experience and proficiency will be required. You will be expected to properly handle your own board with little to no assistance, transition into different paddling positions as necessary, and be able to re-mount your board in deep water. Our pace will be steady and all SUPers will be expected to stay with the group. It is a big beautiful National Park, and with enough paddling we plan to see it all!

Our rentals are self-guided and available all day long, so set your own start time, duration, and pace. Whenever needed, take a break from paddling and soak up the sun on a secluded sandy beach, or dock your craft at the historical Columbus Landing and take the very same footsteps the Columbus fleet made in 1493, it is all up to you. The entire Salt River Bay is protected waters and encompassed by national park lands, offering safe and calm conditions, and unparalleled history and nature.

Sit on Top Ocean Kayak Features

  • Wide and stable kayak, easy to enter and exit, most comfortable kayak
  • Ideal for beginners, suited for rougher conditions, most forgiving
  • Higher occupant weight capacity – up to 500lbs
  • Can be used for beaching on the sandy shores and dragging your kayak up on dry land for sunbathing, exploring by land, picnicking, etc.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)

Our rentals are self-guided and available all day long, so set your own start time, duration, and pace. Set out for a beautiful nature tour, race the bay for some exercise, or find a quite spot for some yoga. The entire Salt River Bay is protected waters and encompassed by national park lands, offering safe and calm conditions, and unparalleled history and nature.

Sea Thru Paddleboard

Paddleboard like never before with our completely transparent SUPs. Take the island’s favorite pastime up to a whole new level. Explore and discover the rich and diverse Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve with unlimited visibility beneath your feet. Take a self-guided tour of the multiple bays comprising the national park all at your own pace. Our self-guided tour is available all day long, so set your own start time, duration, and pace. Set out for a beautiful eco tour, race the bay for some exercise, or find a quite spot for some yoga.

Our sea thru SUPs offer a unique way to paddle the National Park, but the unique transparent design is less forgiving for beginner and novice paddlers. We recommend beginner paddlers start with our other SUP options to gain a solid level of skill and comfort before jumping on the less forgiving sea thru SUPs.

*Please remember our sea thru SUPs cannot be taken ashore or to any beaches as they are damaged when ran aground. Check out our other SUP options for beach friendly boards.

Long Term Rentals

For all the paddle fanatics, let us help to set you up with some longer term rental arrangements. We can provide the kayaks and SUPs for your waterfront rental on St. Croix, set up and delivered to you. Be able to enjoy the tropical waters at your own leisure with your own paddle sport equipment.

Long term rental passes are also available at our shop within the National Park if you don’t have the waterfront access, or would just like for us to do all the heavy lifting and clean up since you are on vacation. We are located inside of the beautiful Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve, inside of Salt River Marina. Our facility is the best jumping off point to become immersed into the National Park. We have a range of traditional, transparent, and glass bottom kayaks, as well as traditional and transparent stand up paddleboards.

We are the local paddle sport headquarters. We maintain a fleet of equipment to facilitate your adventure, from the first-time paddlers to experts.
