The Schmidt Family of Companies is a fifth generation, full-service brokerage firm founded in 1927 that has expanded to offices in not only St. Croix but Ohio, Michigan and Florida. Most importantly in my opinion, H.F. Schmidt Real Estate (as the firm was originally known), was based on the principles of honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to outstanding service.
What does this acquisition mean for our local Coldwell Banker St. Croix Realty? According to Bry Locher, Managing Broker: “Being part of the Schmidt family allows us the resources of a large company including having a marketing team of 12 people while still being the same firm that is hyper focused on being ambassadors for St. Croix and providing exceptional service to all of our clients and customers.” Bry accepted the position of Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker St. Croix Realty after it was purchased by the Schmidt Family of Companies. She started her career in real estate back in 2010 as a licensed assistant and worked her way up to Vice President of that firm. She made the move to Coldwell Banker in 2017, and promptly fell in love with all that the company had to offer it’s clients, along with the chance to work with an amazing team full of experience that is so willing to help and support each other.
Like many residents of St. Croix, Bry was drawn to St. Croix by the clear water and swaying palm trees, and found that the island combines the diversity that she loved previously living in Washington DC, with a small town caring community. Bry grew up near Cleveland, Ohio and moved to the Washington DC area on September 11, 2001. While she loved DC, she wanted to move further south. After a chance visit to St. Croix with a friend that grew up here, and several more visits back, she decided to take the leap and moved here in 2008. Since moving to St. Croix, Bry has expanded her family to include two beautiful daughters and a Crucian rescue dog.
