March
In March, St. Croix enjoys temperatures ranging from the low-70’s to the mid-80’s, and one of the lowest monthly rainfall averages all year. This makes it a great month for one of the biggest annual events on St. Croix – the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Held in Christiansted, this parade is full of festive floats, live music, dancing and the quintessential mocko jumbies. The beautiful weather in March also makes it the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities like the Limpricht Park Vintage and Collectibles Fair, the St. Croix Yacht Club International Regatta, and even fitness activities like the Flight #64 Race or the Queen Mary U.V.I. 5K.
On a cultural note, March 31st is Transfer Day which commemorates the day that the Danish West Indies were formally ceded to the United States by Denmark, thus becoming the U.S. Virgin Islands. Transfer Day is celebrated throughout the island with ceremonies, music and lectures. You can also continue to enjoy a few of the recurring monthly events such as Art Thursday and Jazz in the Park in Christiansted.
