March on St. Croix

March is a great time to be on St. Croix. With beautiful weather and lots of sunshine comes lots of events and things to do, most notably the St. Patrick's Day Parade!  Held in Christiansted, this parade is full of festive floats, live music, dancing and the quintessential mocko jumbies. You can also enjoy other outdoor events like activities like the Christiansted Vintage and Collectibles Fair, road races and sporting events.

March is also VI History Month so expect incredible exhibits, historic tours, and unique experiences.  Additionally, March 31st is Transfer Day which commemorates the day that the Danish West Indies were formally ceded to the United States by Denmark, thus becoming the US Virgin Islands.  Find out about all this and more below!

Come out and embrace the local Crucian culture over two days filled with live music, quadrille dancing, cooking demonstrations, local food and so much more. Organized by our local cultural ambassadors, the Ten Sleepless Knights.

12 - 18  | Tropical Skills Class

In this week-long class, you will learn a variety of ancient skills geared towards surviving and living in a tropical environment. All meals are included in the cost of the class. Meals will also serve as a way to learn more about the tropical environment, as we incorporate both locally cultivated and wild foods into the menu.  Book online!

15-16-17  | Caribbean Community Theatre presents "Francine's Will"

There are six performances over two weekends of Francine’s Will at CCT: March 15-16 and 22-23, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, and two Sunday matinees at 4 PM on March 17 & 24, 2024.

The parade starts at the Fort and will go down Company Street to Market Street, and it will turn and come back down King street, ending at the Fort. There is no parking on Company Street, Market Street, King Street, Church Street and Queen Cross Street from 3:00AM to 4:30PM.

30  | Easter Egg Raffle at Bleu Chocolat

Bleu Chocolàt Workshop will hold its first Easter Egg Raffle, with this year’s proceeds partially benefiting the Queen Louise Home for Children. The highlight of the raffle is a spectacular 34-pound chocolate Easter egg handcrafted by celebrated Chef Erika Dupree Cline that will be donated to Queen Louise Home for Children, along with half of the proceeds of the raffle ticket sales.

    Humpback whales migrate along St. Croix during the late winter months. There are also occasional sights of whale sharks and manta rays.

    Black-necked Stilt, Blue-winged Teal, Great Blue Heron, and Northern Waterthrush migrate to the Virgin Islands for the winter months.
