September on St. Croix
September on St. Croix can be very warm, with temperatures continuing into the high-80’s, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t fun to be had on the island this month! What better place to spend Labor Day weekend then limin’ on the beach or floating in the warm tropical waters? There are several guided hikes this time of year to some off the beaten path places. Or, you can participate in one of the three annual fitness events held in September on St. Croix: the Labor Day 5K Race, the Virgin Islands 10K Race, or the Wall 2 Wall Sprint Triathlon. Whether you prefer to be active, or take it easy, there’s something for everyone on St. Croix.

Sun 20 | Wall-2-Wall Sprint Triathlon & Try-a-Tri
Hosted by the VI Triathlon Federation, this multi-sport race includes an 750-meter swim, a 13-mile bike, and a 3 mile run. Starts at Cane Bay Beach. Relays are welcome in the sprint distance. The Try-a-Tri is perfect for junior athletes and adults new to endurance sports.

The St. Croix Road Racing Committee hosts this 3.1-mile running race on a classic course from the past, starting at Southgate and finishing at Fort Christiansvaern. If you want to park near the finish, a shuttle from Christiansted to the start will be provided. Walkers are welcome to participate!

Young athletes on St. Croix will get the chance to learn the game of golf from the pros thanks to a partnership between the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, the LPGA/USGA, and the Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort.
A free Junior Golf Clinic will take place with professional instruction led by USVI-based golf pro Kenneth Peets.

Students in this class must have previous experience using a potter's wheel and be able to form a pot using the wheel. Instruction will focus on improving skills and creating more complex forms such as teapots, forms with lids, larger vessels, or altering thrown forms, for example. There is so much that can be created. All materials included. Firing fees will be charged based on size of work.
