Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands
Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands (LSSVI) is a non-profit Human Services agency that has been operating the Queen Louise Home since 1904. LSSVI offers programs for abused, abandoned and neglected children, as well as affordable housing for low-income elders and for adults with disabilities, 24-hour residential care for adults with disabilities, and life skills training to help adults with disabilities learn to live more independently. In 2003, LSSVI opened the first Early Head Start Program in the U. S. Virgin Islands which continues to serve infants and toddlers, and pregnant women from at-risk families. You can donate funds to their programs through their website, or you can volunteer your time and offer much needed one-on-one time with children who really need it.
