May
With an average temperature in the low-80’s, May is a great month for outdoor fitness activities on St. Croix, and the island offers many! The big fitness event on island this month (and the year for that matter) is the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon. The triathlon brings competitors from all over the world to St. Croix, which is the main reason Christiansted holds one of it’s four annual Jump Ups in May. If you’re not ready to compete in a full Ironman Triathlon, they also hold a Sprint Triathlon. You can also participate in the Paradise 5K Run or the Memorial Day 2 Mile Run held later in the month. St. Croix also now hosts the Coconut Cup SUP Race for all you stand-up paddle boarders out there. You can also enjoy some of the many smaller events held at local restaurants and resorts to celebrate this month’s Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day holidays. Some venues even offer Chihuahua races, which are fun for the whole family! If you like to party for a cause, come out to the annual Reef Jam at Rainbow Beach and listen to live music and spend the day enjoying the beautiful Caribbean waters. You can also continue to enjoy a few of the recurring monthly events such as Art Thursday, Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted, Jazz in the Park in Christiansted, and Movies at the Fort in Christiansted. If you are on St. Croix this month, here are some of the events you won’t want to miss:
