May on St. Croix

With an average temperature in the low-80's, May is a great month for outdoor fitness activities on St. Croix, and the island offers many! From the annual Kite Festival hosted by St. Croix East End Marine Park, to VI Triathlon Federation's Mermaid Mixer, there's outdoor fun to be had for all. You can also enjoy some of the many smaller events held at local restaurants and resorts to celebrate this month's Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day holidays.

03  | Movie Night @ Leatherback Brewing Company

Head to Leatherback Brewing Company on the first Saturday of each month for a FREE outdoor movie on the lawn. Bring your beach chairs, blankets, friends and family and enjoy a movie under the stars. Come early and order your favorite pizza or snack. The bar will be open for beer and cocktails as well. Check out the Leatherback Brewing Co. Facebook page for this month’s movie feature.

A Christiansted Block Party That’s Fun For The Whole Family! The streets are closed off to traffic so that the Moko Jumbies can roam, and St. Croix social service organizations, youth groups and calypso bands sprinkle the town. Restaurants and businesses stay open late offering great specials, and local food and drink vendors offer up a taste of local flavor. The event is from 6-10pm, but the party continues long after that!

    Humpback whales migrate along St. Croix during the late winter months. There are also occasional sights of whale sharks and manta rays.

    Black-necked Stilt, Blue-winged Teal, Great Blue Heron, and Northern Waterthrush migrate to the Virgin Islands for the winter months.
